KITAKAYA! Book Series

November 20 is the World Children's Day, proclaimed by the United Nations to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and the improvement of children's welfare.

On November 20, 2018, storyhoop will launch its first book project, KITAKAYA! Book Series.

In Bahasa Indonesia, the word "kita" means we and the word "kaya" means rich.

The first series of KITAKAYA! books will show the diversity of staple food in Indonesia in seven illustrated fantasy books for children, created by a writer and seven illustrators.

This formation presents seven different illustration styles that interpret a single writing style, which exhibits the fun of rhymes in Bahasa Indonesia. It’s a storyhoop attempt to live up to the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, the official national motto of Indonesia!

Book Series writer who also works in the audiovisual industry, and Anzilna, Alif Quita Nopianti, Danthis, Faulika Prasasti Maulida, Farahdilla Muqarrabie, Agnes Retno and I. Ratri P., seven young illustrators who also work as students, teacher, multimedia director, and illustration group activator.

The content of KITAKAYA! Book Series will show how diversity in Indonesia, starting from simple matters such as food, clothes, housings, and even mode of transportation, is to be celebrated and nourished.

In this project, storyhoop worked together with Letterplatters, a creative studio that explores the art of lettering in editorial design and literary works.

The stories of KITAKAYA! Book Series will be performed in theatrical storytelling, dance, musical storytelling and musical performance at the KITAKAYA! Book Performance, November 20, 2018, 13.00-15.00 WIB at Galeri Indonesia Kaya, 8th floor, Grand Indonesia West Mall.
